Welcome back to the To The Point Newsletter!
And welcome 8 new subscribers from last month. We’re glad you’re here.
I’m your Nerd Pastor Nate here to greet you at the start of another exciting month at Checkpoint. Do you feel refreshed after the all-too-short month of February?
Our theme for February was Refresh, and we had an excellent month of new and exciting things.
My goal for this article will be to fill you in on the past month and prepare you for the one ahead, so buckle up and let’s just get right into it.
ICYMI - Last Month’s Highlights
If you’ve ever wondered how we practice more spiritual things here at Checkpoint, Perispectus did an excellent job lining out one of the most bizarre and humbling phenomena at Checkpoint.
Is there any better way to practice for Lent than with a tabletop role-playing game? I certainly don’t think so. I enjoyed seeing the energy behind this project and was glad to hear from one of the designers behind the game.
One of the most interesting engagement pieces in the Christosphere has been this Asbury Revival. I was so thankful to have someone from within our community who could offer up his subjective experience of the event.
Shorthand for The Week In Geek, we launched a nerdy news segment on our Twitch stream that is then edited and produced on our YouTube channel. It just moved from Mondays to Thursdays - so join us live for it next week on Thursday. We’re hoping to have LVL2 members join in on the conversation regularly, too.
On Wednesdays, we eat lunch
If you haven’t been around on Discord, we’ve been grabbing lunch together online. We even added a nifty react role so you can know when we get together! It’s been great, and the conversation might even be better than the food.

So, that’s where we’ve been. But where are we headed going forward?
For March, it’s my pleasure to announce our new theme:
Revive
In a meta sense, it’s vital for one to consider what needs to be revived after a moment of refreshing. We’re all geeks here, so consider a computer. After getting a new device, what’s better than trimming the fat or deciding what apps are worth re-installing? We want to bring something with us, sure. But it’s also good to consider our revivals with discernment. After all, you only get so many Phoenix Downs.
I’ll let our excellent byline writers take it from here, but I have to offer a little tease of what’s ahead. Prepare to be revived by the exciting things we have in store.
