Nintendo Music App Makes Surprise Debut
In an unexpected move, Nintendo has launched "Nintendo Music," a dedicated music streaming app offering access to nearly 40 years of iconic game soundtracks. The app is available on iOS and Android and is free for Nintendo Switch Online members.
The app features tracks from franchises, including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid, and Splatoon. Beyond basic streaming, Nintendo has implemented thoughtful features, including:
- Offline downloads for all users
- Custom playlist creation
- Spoiler prevention filters for unfinished games
- Extended tracks up to 60 minutes
- Recommendations based on Nintendo Switch play history
This represents a significant shift in Nintendo's typically restrictive approach to their music catalog while adding substantial value to Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Deltarune Chapters 3-4 Confirmed for 2025
Toby Fox, creator of Undertale and Deltarune, has announced that Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune will release in 2025. This update modifies the original plan to release Chapters 3-5 as a single package, with the total story now expected to span seven chapters.
The announcement is welcome news to fans following the series since its surprise 2018 debut as "Survey Program." While Chapters 1 and 2 were released free of charge, these new chapters will be paid content, marking a shift in the release strategy.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Sees Massive Launch Success
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket launched on October 30th for iOS and Android, quickly generating an estimated $3 million in daily revenue. The app has surpassed 12 million downloads from Japan and the U.S., outperforming current Pokémon GO earnings in app stores.
The app lets players open virtual card packs with animated illustrations, offering two free packs daily. Early user feedback highlights strong PvE content but is concerned about PvP balance issues.
